Infrabel chooses Aalterpaint for railway bridge renovations

Renovations are always a challenge: sometimes problems arise that require technical assistance on site. For example, we adapted the method of surface preparation and the cleaning level during the works on a number of railway bridges.

Different pre-treatment, increased durability

The old paint around many bolted joints was difficult to remove with needle hammers. That is why we switched to the sandblasting method, with a degree of cleaning and dust class that could guarantee perfect adhesion of the new system. In this way, not only was the finishing time reduced, but the durability of the system was also increased. This was proven by on-site tests, which we carried out over the weekend so that the projects would not be delayed.

The intended coatings were also delivered quickly, of course with the associated permits from Infrabel. All projects were completed on time and successfully.
